Rodent Control in Cardiff

Rats, mice and squirrels are the calls we get most across Cardiff: in Victorian terraces where the drains are as old as the street, in newer estates backing onto fields, and in lofts from Whitchurch to Rhiwbina to Lisvane. The signs overlap, but the right response depends entirely on which rodent you’ve got and how it’s getting in.

In plain terms: we find where they’re coming from, deal with what’s already inside, and close the ways back in that can genuinely be closed. How much proofing is genuinely possible differs by rodent (near-total for rats, targeted for mice) and we’ll tell you straight which you’re getting. That honesty is the part of rodent control in Cardiff that separates a job done once from a job that repeats.

Common questions

How much does rodent control cost?

The cost depends on which rodent it is and the visits the job needs: rats typically a minimum of three, mice two to three, squirrels two or more. There’s a fuller breakdown, pest by pest, in our guide to the cost of pest control. Call or WhatsApp a photo for a quote. The exact plan and total are set out after the first inspection and confirmed by text, and it costs nothing to ask.

Are the treatments safe around pets and children?

Yes. In living spaces, any rodenticide goes in sealed, tamper-resistant bait stations, and we’ll show you every placement. The one exception is a closed loft (out of reach of pets and children) where, once we’re certain what we’re treating, bait can go down directly. Wherever proofing and trapping can do the job, they come first; that’s the IPM approach we work to.

How do you stop them coming back?

It depends on the rodent, and we’ll be straight about it. With rats, proofing the entry points once the population’s dealt with genuinely ends jobs; the mesh, anti-gnaw wire and gap-filling we do ourselves, with building or drainage fixes specified for the right trade. With mice, the obvious holes get closed, but nobody can seal a house against a creature that fits through a biro-width gap. Dealing thoroughly with the infestation is the main event.

Something’s scratching in the loft. Which page do I need?

Daytime noise, think squirrels; night-time noise, start with rats or mice. Or skip the diagnosis and just call us; that’s what the first visit is for.
